Here is the following correspondence and IM conversation with a Williams Mark, he was posting on Craigslist and is sending me a check for $3500, the email i received was an exact replica of of one person reporting a scam on here so I thought I would extrapolate on the matter and also point out this persons poor command of the English language, I am not going to cash the check as that would give his bank statement some of my banking information. Do to the lengthiness of the Yahoo IM i will respond with that information in a comment

I received your e-mail along with the information needed for the payment to be mailed out through. I'm sure you'll understand that i tend to have a very busy schedule at this point. Please note that this position is not office based for now because of my frequent travels and tight schedules, it's a part-time, work from home basis and the flexibilty means that there will be busier weeks than others, so it's a little difficult judging the exact number of hours you'll be doing per week. If you can manage your time properly, this job may even give you some extra while you do something else on the side. As I have said, I'd want us to get a head start with things as soon as possible. I do have a pile up of work and a number of unattended chores which you can immediately assist me with and i hope we can meet up with the workload eventually.

Permit me to use this week to test your efficiency and diligence towards all this, also to work out your time schedule and fit it to mine. I really need to find the perfect person for this job, I'm confident you can take up the challenge and on the long run we should have a relatively sound working relationship between us. I am glad you are willing to work with me and i promise to be a good boss. I am also glad on the commitment in working. I have been checking my files and what i would want you to do for me nest week is to run some errands out to some of the orphanage home, I do that every month.

The funds will be in form of Cheque and it will be sent over to you from one of my clients and i have some list to email you once you received the funds. You will make some arrangements by buying some stuff for the kids in the nearest store arround you so you can mail them out and also give them some fund which i am going to instruct and explain to you more better after which i must have confirmed that the paymet have been delivered to you Ok.

So you should hopefully be receiving payment by by week Thursday orFriday unfailingly because i have seen how sincere you are in your email and will like things to be done promptly. ... But i will try to make sure it get delivered to you by teusday or Wenesday nest week because i really want you to know how this position is really serious about, and i will want you to expect some text message soon your phone because i might text or call you personally for any information and updates ok.

    Needless top say he never called but I did receive a phone call from 234-816-119-3091 this morning for 3 seconds in which the caller hung up, he said his boss lives in missouri in the email but gave me a michidan address to send it too, he contracdicted himself in all his email correspondence by saying he was a real estate agent and then in the IM that he is an acctng manager with Bechtel. I don't known who he is but this is the second reported scam like this.

  • I was contacted by the same man after I replied to a craigslist ad for the same job in Tennessee on June 28. He told me he was a contractor. His email was [email protected]. I responded to one email, because the second email he sent he was telling me he would send a check. I've heard of these scams and didn't respond. I get several more emails and IMs by July 1st, none to which I replied to. I, then, received the check that didn't match the previous emails. I'm assuming he checked the tracking number, because after I received it I got a couple emails with death threats included. I've filed a police report in my area and called the police in Troy, MI where I'm assuming this guy is. If you google his name you find all sorts of information. He's not hidden very well, nor is he very good at scamming. Thank you for posting this Brenton. I hadn't thought of putting it on these sites.
