I ordered a Canon camera and a 16GB memory card on-line. Two days later, I get a call that the memory card is the wrong card but they have a 'special' if I order the high speed card they will double the size to 32GB no extra charge. The high speed card is about 2.2X the cost of the card I ordered. When I agreed to that, the battery was next for the up-sell. "The battery is only good for 30 minutes. You need a better battery." They had some deal on those, too. Then it was a kite with a bunch of stuff nobody really wants or needs. I told them to stop the hard sell and just ship the camera and the 32GB card. The whole thing should have come to $609.94.

This morning (12/9) I get a confirmation that the order is being "processed". The price has gone up to $639.99. It is not broken out on the order confirmation for each individual item. Just a total price.

I called. CS transferred me to the guy who had tried to up-sell me. He says the increased $30 cost is for the kit, along with the 32GB card and the camera. He says I agreed to the kit and he has the whole conversation recorded. Amazing since he had said nothing about his phone conversation being recorded, as required by Federal Law.

I told him to get it back down to the $609.94 that I had agreed to. He countered that the kit was a good deal at $30 for a rapid charger, better battery, tripod, etc., etc. I said either back down to $609.94 or cancel the order.

Can't cancel the order. It has already been shipped. What's the tracking number? He didn't have one. "UPS is closed on Sunday. You'll have to call during the week to get a tracking number." Since UPS generates Tracking Numbers 24/7 through its automated shipping system, there should be a Tracking Number before the box even leaves the warehouse.

Bottom line: these guys are slimey, high-pressure up-sellers who entice you in with low prices and then up-sell and add-on to goose their own bottom line and profit. If you shake hands with them, be sure to count your fingers when you are done.
