I received a letter from a Settlement Services that claims I am the beneficiary of $80,000. Yet they wanted to inform me that due to "North American Law" there was a processing fee, yet by "North American Law" individuals are not to pay for this out of personal funds. Therefore a very "real" looking check made out to me in the amount of $2262.82 to cash for this purpose. The letter also instructs that you are "advised to keep your claim completely confidential until it has been completely processed and your settlement has been delivered to you." Yeah right. Unfortunatly I am sure individuals fall prey to these type of scams especially when you are in the most difficult financial hardship of your life. I just think it is so pathetic that indivduals stalk individuals in this manner. If the check were cashed I am certain that the individual would be in deep trouble not only breaking one financially deeper but also for a criminal charge. Please save yourself the trouble and remember that if it is too good to be true that 99.9% of the time it is not true. The individual that is the contact is a Peter Adams at 514-577-1098.
