I bought boots from this website (Leisure Shoes) which I had bookmarked: http://www.shoesaled.info/index.php?main_page=account_history_info&order_id=613
If you ever see "shoesaled" in an URL, run! Two weeks later I received a small, odd-looking envelope in the mail from China. What was inside? A pencil! Yep, I think they downgraded from shower caps. The sender's name was xiaoya yang, so I did a Google search on it and was brought to this scambook page. I recognized "Leisure Shoes" in one of the complaints and realized I'd been had and that I would never see the boots I purchased.
I filed a claim on PayPal today and will update when I have more news. I've copied and pasted the person's name on the PayPal transaction who was the actual recipient of my payment: haiquan zhang. Very bad news.
As for the question, why do they bother to send a shower cap or a pencil instead of the shoes or boots we paid for? I know this might sound out there, but my guess is it may have something to do with karma. Giving us something for our bucks instead of nothing might, in their minds, keep the karma scales balanced so they don't incur any negative karma. I know, like that makes their theft not necessarily "outright stealing." LOL. Go figure. And while you're at it, have a pencil!
