I had applied for a loan with JP MacMillan and was told that I had been approved for $5000 if I sent $710 by Moneygram, the contract appears to be legitimate, I went out of my way to send this money by using my current bill money and causing hardship to the point of not being able to pay my bills. I was told that the money would be available within 4 hours, I went in an dpaid them at 9:33am on 10/26/12 and then when I called them on Friday 10/26/12@4:00 p.m. and was told that an answer was not readily available, but that the money would be in my account no later than Monday morning. I called again on Monday 10/29/12 and was instructed that it was going to cost me another $710, which I did not have, I tried to cancel the loan that day and was told to try to get the funds that there was "No time restriction". I tried what I could to get the money as I was told that because I wanted a refund it would take another 4-6 weeks to get the refund (I only requested a refund because they told me they couldn't provide me the loan that they had initially contracted with me for). I called today 10/31/12 to cancel the loan all together due to the inability to get the additional funds and was informed that I would have to pay them $400 for holding fees, this is NOT in the contract nor was I told prior to today of this information. I feel that the company is a big scam and has cost me $710 of my money that I work hard for to support my family. Please be aware, everything they do looks and sounds legit but I have filed a police report, a fraud complaint with the BBB, the Attorney General, IC3.gov, the FTC and Moneygram. Of course no money back but a lot of heartache & headache as well as unpaid bills.
