I re-activate my membership (I am female so there was no fee). I was asked to chat on Yahoo or MSN by no less than 12 to 15 Nigerians Scammers. It is always the same; no photo; the guy is usually a widow or is single, has one young child, claims to be either in Armed Forced or is an engineer working overseas. They ALL claim to make over $100,000.00 per year and they are all educated, with BA, usually Masters or PhD. It becomes quite easy to identify them; the first thing one notes on their profile is that inability to write proper English. If you decide to chat with them, you note immediately that they are far from having master the English language. I have reported each and every one of these scammers to Mate 1 but never received a response so I guess this web site, located in Montreal Quebec is aiding and abetting these scammers who take advantage of lonely, single and vulnerable women around the globe. If this company had been located in the USA, I have NO doubt they would of been shut down a very long time ago.

- I would like someone to apply pressure on this company to block/terminate all reported scammers. It really is pathetic how many of these users are on this site and despite numerous complaints to the company, nothing has ever been done.

- Well, I guess it took me writing to a US based Consumer's Advocate/Assistance program to FINALLY get an answer from Mate 1. I am in Ottawa so, you are just next door. I have reported no less than 20+ scammers to your Agency and NEVER got a response whatsoever. Yes, I saw and HIT the "REPORT A PROBLEM" after every single scammer wanted to chat and then, ask for my e-mail address and again, never got 1 reply. I had to go to a public forum to get your attention. Now, it appear you want to help? How many times can I report the same problem? These Nigerian scammers, once called upon, simply change the "State" they live in and may change "widow" to divorced or single. The ONE thing I have noticed is that these idiots DO NOT change either their education or "job" description but once they start chatting with you and you ask them what they do for a living, it is completely different than what is written in their profile. How can your Agency miss all this? These psychopathic, heartless users have a "boss" that pays their fees to you (notice any money being paid coming from NIGERIA??? They work on this and other dating site (yours is by far the worse!) to get you to believe you are the beautiful woman I have ever seen. I am God Fearing and this was meant to be. The last one I played with, asked me to send money so I could speak with him as he is in the army and I must pay. Once he gave the "send money Western Union to a man in NIGERIA", I had NO doubt he was a scammer. He would write e-mails that made no sense, from an English perspective; they always are from another nationality (Hispanic, the former USSR and that's why their English is so bad. I told your Agency in one of my last complaints that maybe it would just be better to contact "La Presse" in Montreal, to tell them what you are allowing and even to THAT, I got NO response. I thank this site for your assistance in finally reaching these people but trust me, their are words are for show only. NOTHING WILL CHANGE!!

- However, rest assured that I will keep the pressure on you Mate 1 and will keep this site updated. Again, they have had at least 20 to 30 reasons to get in touch with me and have failed to do so, despite going through their "Report a Problem" e-mail. I doubt anything will change and will continue on this site, monitoring them, to see if they will put a stop to these thieves. If not, the next stop for me WILL be contact "La Presse" in Montreal and I will push until you clean up your site!! I don't want empty promises; I want results. Not for myself but for the countless, older, lonely women who believe the evil these users spew at them and then send their pension money or life saving because they "believe" and so badly want to be loved. They don't report this because they are ashamed and embarrassed and if I had sent money, I would be ashamed also. Mate 1, this is your chance to clean up your site; you really don't want to mess this up and have me push further because you will NOT like the results, of that, I can promise you! If I contact you now, you will simply close my profile so, everything I have had to say is here and will remain here until you do something to stop this or I take it to the next level; anytime a Company chooses money over ethics or morality, it has 0 credibility with me and that is where you stand at the moment. You have a choice to change my perspective or trust me, I will change it for you!!

- I entered in information above 2 weeks & 1 day ago and still, Mate 1 had done NOTHING to stop these scammers from being on their site. Every time I log on, someone want to chat with me, with most being scammers. Some user are so blatant, their Yahoo e-mail address is attached to their name/title. Has Mate1 done ANYTHING to correct this?? The answer is NO. There are still hundreds of scammers - usually the same ones; no photo but their height or U.S. location has changed; however, their ID has NOT. I was right not to contact them directly. Since my initial complaints, I have been contacted by at least 10 additional scammers, all of which were reported and Mate 1 did NOT contact me or terminated ANY of these users from using their site. These bottom feeders continue to prey on the lonely and helpless. I had really hope that their response had been sincere, that they did want to put an end to these unscrupulous users who are merely on here to gain your confidence and then, to steal from you. Mate1 is a haven for scammers, thieves and men who want to use women, strictly for the money they can get from them. I am ashamed to say their company is in my beautiful Country of Canada because they make us all look bad. I believe they should move their operation to Nigeria; they will feel right at home!! I will now contact the main Montreal Newspaper, La Press and any other that would like to follow up on this story. Mate1, you should be ashamed of yourself! You were given an opportunity to clean up your site and have done NOTHING! Whoever owns this company, know this; "what goes around, comes around". Believe me, you will sow what you reap and when someone rips you off, no one will be there to help you or wipe away your tears! Off to the Media!!!
