The company sent me an email (from a gmail address) describing the procedures for the induction and training days asking me to pay £50 in advance for a CRB check. I'm not very familiar with the procedures in UK, so I did as they asked.
I should have guessed that it was a scam from the big no-no signs, but the small things were actually very detailed and seemed to add up.
Suffice to say, the address didn't exist and several other guys were also there for the same job.
