Sir/ Madam, I saw advertisement in Autotrader for a JCB Backhoe declared value 15,000 euro,I telephoned the number on which was 00441612416845, and I was told by Mr Jason Diaz that I dont pay any money until the JCB Backhoe arrives in my yard, which is Ratoath Co. Meath. Ireland.and that the machine would be leaving America that day. The following day Mr Jason Diaz phoned me to say that the JCB Backhoe was in France, I was suprised that it had got to France so quick, but my wife said maybe the machine was already in France doing some work and maybe Mr Jason Diaz did not want us to know this. That evening I received another phone call that was suppose to be from a Shipping Company in Dover UK asking for Shipping Charges to Ship the machine, I e-mailed Mr Diaz on [email protected], to tell him that he previously e-mailed me stating that I dont pay any money at all until the JCB Backhoe arrives in my yard and also that I had 5 days to inspect it and that if I am not happy with it , that they(Diaz Machinery ) would Ship it back to America at not cost to me., Mr Diaz said that I would not receive the machine until I paid the Shipping charges, and he said that the Shippings preferred method for payment was Western Union, as I was very excited about getting a new JCB I asked Mr Diaz what was the cost of the Shipping and he said 1245.66 GBP which cost me 1500Euro and a charge at the post office of 63 Euro for the transaction, when I came home I e-mailed this reference number to the Shipping Company as instructed by them as I never paid anyone by western union before and this was all new to me,as I always use my credit card. The Shipping Company e-mailed me to say they received the payment,so I thought that now I can look forward to receiving the JCB Backhoe as it would not take long to come from Dover in the UK. Then the next thing is I received an e-mail saying that I have to pay import tax which was 1,858.99 GBP, WHICH COST ME 2,250 Euro and a charge by the post office again for 91 Euro, it was only when I paid this to someone by giving them the reference number again on the western union receipt that I realised that I should not have paid import tax at Dover UK as the Machine was in Transit and that I would be only liable for import tax when the machine came into Dublin Ireland. The following day I received ane-mail saying that I would have to pay again in order to get the JCB Backhoe moving up the road to Fishguard UK so as it could be Shipped to Ireland, I did not know what to think at this stage so I reminded Mr Diaz of his e-mail to me stating that I pay nothing until the machine arrives in my yard but my e-mails were ignored,so I said to my wife what do you think and we decided ,well now the JCB Backhoe is in the UK and almost here so we decided to pay, this time it was 1,023 GBP which is 1,250 Euro and a charge by the post office again for the western union payment transaction of 53 Euro. So now I think everything is sorted out and that I will receive my JCB Backhoe by the weekend as promised , a day passes and that evening I receive an-email stating that the JCB Backhoe is in lock up (storage) awaiting further payment of 2,000 Euro to get another Truck to bring it to Fishguard UK so as it can be Shipped to Dublin Ireland. at this stage I phoned MR Jason Diaz and I told him that I was not sending any more money I even asked him was this a scam and he said no and he begged me to pay the 2,000 Euro or he would be in terrible trouble with the shipping company, I e-mailed the Shipping Company as he was blaming them and I told them that I was not willing to pay over any more money and I also told them that I knew a few men with trucks that drive in the UK and I could make arrangements with them to collect the JCB Backhoe at their lock up address , but their reply was that nobody would be allowed to collect the JCB Backhoe with out first paying them the 2,000 Euro in sterling and that they would not give me the address . Mr Diaz also said that he had an office in Manchester UK, and some of the Western Union payments were made out to a Catherine Hamilton, Manchester Airport,. also another Western Union payment was made out to Katherine Hamilton again this time the address was at 209 Bennett Street, Manchester M 90 5 PZ,. I travelled to the UK with my Brother in-Law to find this Catherine Hamilton at 209 Bennett Street and there is no such number as 209, so then I went to Manchester Police Station and reported the matter to them and they were able to tell me also that there was no such number at Bennett Street and also they never heard of a Catherine Hamilton in that area, I also checked at Manchester Airport and they never heard of her either. I forgot to mention that before I travelled to the UK I reported this scam to my local Garda Station and they advised me never to pay by Western Union ,they said if you hear to pay by Western Union, its a scam. Thank You. P.J. Roche
