Met someone name Mike Brown. He claimed to have won the lottery and was waiting for the check to clear. We were spending time together and he decided to pay my student loans. Mind you we are both christians; so I thought. He called the accounts with me and charged his bank (at least thats what I thought) for both my student loans. Crazy because I was so skeptical, I constantly called them to confirm they received the money from the bank and they said yes. He claimed that he was told by God that is what he was suppose to do. They even congradulated me in paying off my loan. I was so happy. Being a single parent of 2 and a grandmother, I could now move from the innercity. Not having that heavy loan of $90,000 over my head made me feel like a new person. God is amazing. I really foolishly though he was God sent. A few days later he asked if he could borrow money because his brother died in south carolina and his family needed money for the burial..at least until the bank allows him to withdrawal money, which was in another week. Oh, he was only able to pay bills through the bank account until they completely cleared his winnings. So at first I didnt want to but I felt bad because the student loan confirmed with me that they received the money so I had no need to worry. I loaned him the money out of obligation because of what he had done for me. Then a week later both student loan payments were rejected. I almost had a heart attack...literally! How could this be??? They told me the money was there and it was paid. I tried contacting him but he would not answer. Finally, the next day he answered through a text stating he did not scam me and that he was going to the bank to see what happened. I was so furious and called him every ungodly name; demanding my money. He claimed that he would pay me back but no payment and no more responses. I didn't have an address for him; we use to meet when we went out. I know I was scammed but I don't have enough information to proceed with his fraudulent acts. I only have telephone numbers. One is disconnected and the other just goes to voicemail. What a fool I feel like.
