I opened an account with them regarding my auto loan with Santander Lending. When I originally spoke with them, they told me that they had done a lot of business with Santander with great success. I explained to them that I had only had the loan since January and that did not seem to be a problem and they assured me that dealing with Santander would be no trouble.
When I received the paperwork and saw that it was just a bunch of forms for me to fill out and send to Santander myself. I called them to question this as I was led to believe by the person I spoke with, a Jennifer Schneider, that they would intervene for me and they said I had to send in the forms myself. At the time, I felt that $350.00 for a hand full of copied forms was a bit extreme, but I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
After waiting 3 – 4 weeks for a response from Santander, I called them to see if they had received the forms. I was told that I should receive a response soon. I called again the next week and was informed by another party that they do not modify loans until they have been in force for at least 2 years. If Save the American Dream did so much work with Santander, how come they didn’t know this? Santander also informed me that they don’t issue denial letters, something else that Save the American Dream should have known.
I then started trying to contact Save the American Dream by email (12 in all), by web site, by mail (undeliverable), by phone (all numbers had been disconnected) and finally by making an over 300 mile drive to Ft. Lauderdale to find that the office had been abandoned. I checked with the building manager and found that Save the American Dream had left over the weekend owing back rent. Not a good omen.
I am not sure how you got in touch with them, but every number I attempted to call or email I have sent has ended in failure. The address and phone numbers on the refund policy form you included in your letter to me are nonexistent.
I am not letting this rest. There are many complaints against them on Rip Off Report and the BBB.
I want my money back. I expect the State of Florida to do something about this scam company. I also wrote to the Attorney General and received a response back from him listing over 10 aliases that this company has operated under. Also, I attempted to send an email to the address listed on the complaint form you sent me that the company had sent back and it is also bogus……[email protected]. Please check it against what you have. Also, could you let me know where you sent the original complaint so I can find them? If they need a letter of denial, it would be nice if their addresses weren’t bogus.
