Letter of Oct. 22, '12 said I was "one of the lucky winners in the UK & North American Shoppers Sweepstake held in the UK on Oct. 15,"
& that I won $230,000. of the 3.2 million shared among the North Amer. winners. There was enclosed a check for $3,750. with instructions to call their "International Claim Consultant" - one "Andy Peterson" at 1-649301193, which I did. "Andy" told me to immediately deposit the check and call him again. I did. He gave me the name of a "John Yerby, 1 Lime Street, Liverpool UK L5
23UB" to immediately send $980.by Money Gram toward the "non-resident tax fee of $1950. for the UK, and then call him again for directions for sending the balance of $970.
I became suspicious. And, in fact, their check never cleared. This obviously is a scam which ought be reported and followed up on. Thanks for doing so.
