A guy calls me up, says his name is Mike Smith with joinsitter.com. He has clients that are looking for a babysitter. An appointment was set up for them to come to my house on Sat., Oct. 20, 2012 at 11am to meet me. There was a fee of $120. ($60. for year membership and $60. for a police clearance). I tried Google checkout, but it didn't go through, so he suggested that I wire it, which I did. It looked like the Google payment went through, so he said he was going to refund that payment through nannies.com, but he actually took another $120. out. Then he said he needs a deposit of $200. to make sure I will be home on Sat. for the family to meet me. He said I wired it to the wrong account, he was going to refund that money, and so I wired another $200. to another TD Bank account number. Each of the three wires cost $25. fee. Yes, I was scammed BIG TIME, and I went right along with it. It was not fraud because I agreed to each withdrawal, except I did not agree to the asknannies withdrawal, I agreed to the asknannies DEPOSIT. Anyways, joinsitter.com says they are going to refund me the money, but I am more than certain that is just another way of covering their behinds. I am hoping this guy will be caught, so other 'vulnerable' people will not give this guy any more money. Believe me, this is a lesson well learned.
