I recently went on line to apply for a payday loan. It is extremely difficult and confusing to say the least. I immediately started receiving calls from loan services. Pay Day Loans of America called with a rep. named Tony Hartman posing as the senior Loan officer. I had been pre-approved for a loan of $1,500 and was given a loan code. They needed a good faith payment upfront to finance at the terms I needed which I questioned but thought because my credit history and length of repayment I reluctantly agreed. He had me purchase a moneyPak in the amount of $175.00. I did so and followed through with the whole endeavor only to be scammed. I think what is the worst of it all is that I explained to him upfront that I did not have the funds until my disability check would be in and he still took what I had knowing this. I cant imagine the type of person it takes to steel from people who are in such positions. Please all be ware. I ran a BBB on this company only to find out that the company actually dropped the above name in 2009 and have been actively working under the name of Cashline whom I called to ask about there site. I was told that they had received several complaints of someone of Indian descent using their former name. I would like to know if this is so;then what is the company now called Cashline doing about this. It should be some how partly their responsibility to resolve this issue. Especially since their company is being miss represented, also the site is still up and active. I am personally overwhelmed and distraught. I have been out of work for several months, utilities are in disconnect status and an eviction to be posted soon. I know that $180.00 sounds trivial but it was my money and could have maybe kept my electric from being targeted for disconnection. Who is to be held responsible? (OMG!! while typing this I just received another call from the same person representing themselves as Roger with PD Loans of America!!!) Is there no descency left in the world.
