Prior to this incident I had signed up for magazines through Publisher's Clearing House. They were charging me so much a month for only 4 to 6 months (I can't remember exactly). When I received the letter from Central Rewards my account with PCH had already been paid in full. I had received several phone calls from Central Rewards but I was confused because they were saying I still owed for the magazines that I had ordered. I told them that all magazines I had ordered were through PCH and were paid in full.
In August I started getting calls from them again and I noticed that I had been being charged on my credit card by them in previous months. I told them I did NOT order any magazines from them as the payment was around $70.00 per month and that was so far over my budget at the time that I would not have committed to a payment I couldn't pay as I was fighting to pay the bills I had. They said they had my voice on a recording on July 27 agreeing to pay for said magazines. I told them they were lying and I wasn't paying for what I didn't order. On a later call I asked them what magazines I had ordered. When they told me I told them that was a lie because some of those they mentioned I would never order because I had bad experiences with them in previous years. They referred me to one of their supervisors and I told her the same thing. I didn't order them and I wasn't paying for them. They were calling on the average of at least 3 times a day several days a week. Last I heard this is harassment and is illegal. Creditors are only allowed 1 call per month.

  • Drop my phone from your call list and never call me again. Apology would be fine, but I would just rather never hear from them again.
