I received a call about employment. I was told that I needed to go to a Walgreens and purchase a money card for $3.95 and put $89.00 for a Federal and State background check. Then after I put the money on the card I was told to scratch of the back and read the numbers off to Tim Simmons. He told me he would contact me the next morning Friday 10/19/2012 at 8:45 AM to let me know when and where to come to finish paperwork because I had the job.

  • My wife was called about employment today by Tim Simmons. Her start date is Nov 19th as a Biohazard Medical Tech at a local hospital. She would need to complete two things before employment, a drug screen & criminal background. The drug screen is company paid but criminal check is $89, which comes out of her pocket & is company reimbursable. She was instructed to travel to Walmart and wait for instructions on completing the "criminal check forms". We decided not to leave home and to play along. Tim called and she was instructed to purchase a Netspend card and she was given an account number to send the money; it was at this point I spoke w/Tim Simmons and explained that I researched and found this was a scam. He backpedaled a bit and insisted this is a legit company. I explained the difference between CleanMed.net and CleanMed.org and he insisted he was not representing the .net but from the .org, but he fumbled and then said he was CleanMed.net. I told him not to her call again, he said that she is now disbarred by his company from further contact/employment. The indicators: CleanMed website is a .net with no information on a physical company location; the only email address shown is to sales at the real CleanMed site, which is a dot org (the email "[email protected]" is non-existent); the 1-800 numbers (both 5320 & 5321) are CellOne GSM based in UTTAR PRADESH(EAST) - which is in India; on the benefits listed, Stericycle is listed as the backing 401(k) plan. BTW, Stericycle does have job openings in this field, they are called Hospital Service Specialists though. Tim is a smooth talker but he will fumble as he gets nervous, he also laughs nervously. He also brings up the BBB; which does show CleanMed but they are not BBB accredited and no active complaints; the BBB file on them was opened 9/25/2012. We've also submitted a complaint to the BBB on this issue.

  • Quick update: The BBB does not process employment practice complaints. They offer no agencies that they can recommend for this type of complaint.

Based on the original post and the one we encountered with CleanMed, INC., my recommendation would be NOT to use their employment service. There are too many factors that are misleading that play into them ultimately getting your money with no service rendered (aka SCAM). BTW, we live in Virginia and the CleanMed INC home address listed by the BBB is Sunnyvale CA. At least this could be posted on CleanMed, Inc's website.
