They posted an ad on craigslist claiming to have open security guard positions. When I went in for what I was led to believed to be a job interview, they told me I had to pay for the training, and in order to get into the buildings that offer between $15 and $17 an hour, I had to pay $575 to get the right certifications. It was only after the training that I would be placed, but when I finished the course, they simply handed me a copy printed set of papers with companies to go to fill applications at. They also didn't inform me that I need to pay another 100+ dollars to apply for the actual security guard license.

They are located at 80 Broad Street, 6 floor, near the 4,5 Bowling Green station in Manhattan. The person I spoke to throughout the process is named Ms. King, a 5'4ish black woman who looks to be in her early 20's. The person who does the "interview" and pressures you into purchasing the overpriced training package is first name is Freeman.

I'm not even sure if this company is legitimate.

  • I would like to know if you have been able to use the papers that the gave you to find a job somewhere else because I have a friend who just got scam by the same place.

  • LJW way overcharges for training, and fools you into getting certifications you don't need to get a security job. You only need the 8hr and 16hr which are worth about $100 to get at some place legitimate.

    I was able to find a job with honor guard security, the company that was listed on the last page of the set of papers I was given. The problem is that the pay is only between $8.50 and $10.00 per hour, depending on where they send you (I was sent to rite aid for 9.50), and that you have to be on call whenever they need you. I quit that place in under a week because of the annoying managers and dispatchers trying to force me to go to work at far away locations with only 4hrs notice after I had already got my schedule the day before. Most of the companies on the papers look like loss prevention companies just like honor guard, and I bet the pay is no better. I just got called for an interview from a much higher paying non-security company the day after I quit so I'm taking that as a sign I made the right choice.

  • I signed a contract with Security Elite Group and saw that they provided training by LJW. Has anything happened with your case

  • PEOPLE.......I USED TO WORK FOR LJW SECURITY AS A TELEMARKETER BEFORE GETTING HIRED WITH CLASSIC SECURITY THROUGH LJW SECURITY'S PLACEMENT SPECIALIST. THEREFORE, I HAVE SEEN "FIRST HAND" WHO IS SCAMMING WHO!

    THE OWNER OF LJW IS A VERY SERIOUS MAN AN DOESNT NOT PLAY THE GAMES LIKE THE OTHER COMPANIES IN THE INDUSTRY. I HAVE WITNESSED THE OWNER TRY AND CHANGE THE WAY THE LOOSER REPRESENTATIVE THINK AND JUST OVERALL CHNAGE THE GAME. I USED TO WORK MR. HILL WHO IS A COMPLETE LIAR AND DID NOT PAY ME......(he is easily identified by the nasty bubbles on the back of his neck.....completely gross!!!))

    THE OWNER FIRED ALL OF THE SCAMMERS WHO WERE LYING TO STUDENT JUST TO GET MONEY, STEALING, AND WERE EITHER DRINKING OR DOING DRUGS WHILE ON DUTY. THESE LOOSERS ARE ALL NOW WORKING FOR OTHER COMPANIES SUCH AS: ACCESS GLOBAL, 1ST SECURITY, NATIONAL SECURITY, AND ALWAYS VIGILANT.

    do your homework.....they just run from company to company doing the same thing!!!!!!!
