In July of 2010 Choice Home Warranty promised me a 5 year contract if I paid the 3 year price of $967.50 in 3 monthly installments of 322.50 which I agreed to do. Within a month my air conditioning system broke down during the hottest 2 weeks of 2010. I called Choice for repair service, they told me the Air Conditioning system needed to be replaced and they would not honor the replacement of the system which was part of the service agreement of the warranty program. At this point I asked for my money back and wanted to cancel my contract with them. This did happen within the 30 day cancellation time frame. They denied to refund my monies and now have my $967.50. I told them I would take them to court and the Manager of Choice Warranty laughed at me and said "Go Ahead!". Realizing Corporate headquarters of the company is in Maryland and I would have to go to Maryland to take them to court would cost me more than what they owed me. I found within 2 weeks a repair man that fixed my air conditioning systme for $215.00..He claimed it was only a minor part that needed replaced and the system would be fine. I then called Choice home warranty and asked them to repay the $215.00 for the service call to fix my system. They then told me I did not ask them to use a service company outside their usual service people and denied my to pay this fee!! I told them their service man was wrong and it was over 100 degree weather and we were suffering so I jumped on getting the system fixed as their service company was obviously not qualified for repair work. I told them I pre-paid a 5 year contract the least they could do was pay this service fee since they would not let me cancel this obligation. They again laughed at me. They are rude and very unprofessional people and I have since learned they "NEVER" "EVER" replace air conditioning systems, and you would play hell to get them to replace "any" appliances in your home as they are a SCAM artist company with many complaints I have since found on the net. These people need to have a Master lawsuit claimed against them to refund all the people they have scammed all over the U.S. They are a fradulent organization that claims to be the NO.1 Service Company in the U.S.!! After all this, they now told me I am only covered for 3 years and 4 months on my service agreement not the 5 years the Salesman pre-soldme on the telephone through a tele-marketing scam. I have paperwork they sent me with 3 different timeframes that my warranty service plan expires and all have different service limitations...I am now suffering out of almost a thousand dollars with a company that I know will never fix anything in my house. My fridge broke last month and they would not pay the service call for it. I had to pay it out of my pocket $95.00. Please help me get this company exposed for what they are doing and let's see if we can get our money back!!
