I had applied for a loan to go back to school. I dont have great credit becuase of past medical bills so I couldnt just go to any loan place. I researched Meridian and everything seem to check out at the time. The first loan officer I talked to was David Anderson ext. 139. He had contacted me via email and phone saying I was approved for a 15,000.00 loan but because I had not so great credit, I needed to pay an insurance on the loan, 1530.00 and I would have the loan. I was desperate so I borrowed the money from my grandmother, expecting to pay her back right away. The day my loan was suppose to be deposited I got a call from loan officer Patrick Greene, ext 425, saying the lender was requesting more money for insurance and then I would not have to make a loan payment for 2 years. The next day I get another call saying the lender had backed out but that he had found another lender but the loan was for 30,000.00 and they needed more insurance I said I have no more money to give you, he asked me how much I could come up with and he would try and come up with the difference. I came up with 800.00, and he came up with 2300.00 so he said. He apparently tired to make the payment on my behalf and it didnt work. I said I have no more money to give you. He was like cant you borrow it from someone. I said no everyone is already expecting me to pay them back. I said I needed time to think about this. I talked to Patrick pretty much every single day for weeks without giving him anymore money. I told him I just wanted him to refund me my insurance money. He said ok it will be in your bank act Saturday August 27, 2011 in the am. I had talked to him last on Wednesday August 24, 2011 and he said everything was still ok for Saturday. Not until Saturday when I called them when my money hadnt arrived that I realized something wasnt exactly right. I mean I was holding out hope that this was legit. Patrick since then has changed his ext number so I have no way of getting into contact with them. David Andersons Ext is still working and I have left messages on his voicemail. I have sent them both emails and no response. It doesnt seem fair that these people are going to get away with scamming people out of money. I am beyond stressed and owe everyone money. I had to transfer schools becasue I cant afford to go to the school I want to go to. This is a big nightmare and I want it to be over with. Isnt there anything we can do to make these people pay???
