I was on the computer the evening of 9/21; when a message popped up saying something to the effect of: Is your computer in danger? We will scan your computer, and give you the results at no cost. Good deal; so I agreed; and when completed they gave me a list of potential problems, and said it would be $ 39.94 to proceed. That didn't seem like a bad deal, so I agreed, and they requested method of payment. I gave them the information, and got a message that my account had sucessfully been charged; and that I would now need to speak to a tech. A woman came on the line, and in a short while informed me that the $ 39.94 was for the software purchase; and their contracts were for five years, charged at $ 100.00+ for each of 4 installments over the next 3 years, totaling over $ 500.00. My reply was "No way, just return the money taken from my account, and cancel the entire transaction". Next morning the deduction was still on my account, so on September 22, I e-mailed them again relating the facts, and asked for an immediate refund. Without seeing a refund, I e-mailed them again on October 4, and stated that far too much time had past without me being given a refund, and I expected it to be returned by the next day, or I was going to file a complaint against them. Still no refund; or reply. Something needs to be done to set these people straight!
