Months ago, I was applying online for a car loan of at least $1,000. I did not apply to any company called Hydra Fund. However, the following Thursday I had $150 in my account from them. I called my bank after being unable to find a company phone number online and told them that I never asked for the money and I do not want the money in there because I'm not putting up with them taking money out whenever they want.
The bank offered to investigate for a $30 fee, so I went in the next morning (Friday) to learn that Hydra took out $75 the very next DAY that they deposited the unwanted money. My bank let me file a claim and advised me to close the account before Hydra took out any more money, so I did.
Months later, and I am now being harassed with phone calls about how I know somehow owe the company $270. I pointed out that they are an illegal company, not allowed to solicit in the state of NJ, etc, etc, and they countered that by closing my account, I am now soliciting THEM. They choose to ignore the fact that I had no choice but to close the damn bank account, and would have gladly sent them their $150 back had I received a response at all from the company when I tried contacting them.
I pointed out to the guy on the phone that I never asked for the loan, but he says they have proof that I went on their website, typed in my information, clicked the confirmation email and they called me on the phone to confirm again and I apparently had a nice chat with them and confirmed vocally as well. They have "proof". Well I'd love to see this proof in court, because I'm not paying a dime more than the $150 they gave me, and even now they will "settle" for $170.

  • Seeking Resolution: Other
  • Let me pay back exactly what they sent me - without my consent or authorization - minus what they already took out of my bank account ($150 - $75 that they already withdrew) and settle this thing fairly for each party.
