I showed interest in receiving grant money to pay my business related credit card debt. i filled out a form online to request information. I was contacted by Soteria Mentoring. After a brief interview over the phone, the person said that they thought they could help, but put me on the line with their executive director named Dan Pierson. Dan assured me thatthey could help based on the information i had provided. he said the charge would be $2700. I told him that I could not muster that much credit, he immediately said he thought they could find a donor to help. Of course he found a sponsor for $1000. after he assured me that they would not take my case unless they were sure they could get more fund for me than I had paid them, i gave him my credit card number for a charge of $1700 was told the program acted quickly, and I had a month to back out for any reason. I did not see any action for a month. when I inquired, i was told that I could not expect a return that quickly, and the 30 days was from the point that they received my paperwork, and that if after a year i had not received any funds, my investment was refundable. it has been four months, and they have only written one grant proposal, and have not provided any appropriate funding sources. Dan's phone number mysteriously changed, and i can not speak with him directly. when I last spoke with the writers, they had given up, and were at a loss for what to do next. I guess I am supposed to forget about the $1700 that I paid them. I can barely make the minimum payment on my credit cards thanks to Soteria
