On Aug 18 2012 I received the first text on my Iphone about being the winner of an Apple product. By following the link provided I was directed to Ziinga site. I told them about this and they say it is not them who sends the texts and we should delete them. Really? How is it somebody else's interest to direct me to your site?
Anyway, I participated in a bid and "won", paid my product, but when I saw them asking about docs to be sent, I said to myself no way, forget it, it was only 4$. But after 2 weeks I check my credit card and there it is a transaction of 90$. So I call them and it seems on the receipt were the conditions and terms of a 3 month contract, 90$ a month for a "Platinum membership". I cannot be refunded because I "used the advantages by participating in the bid" and if I want to cancel the contract I have to pay a fee of 50$.
I have been in communication with them trying to make them understand and cancel the whole thing, but it is very upsetting all they do is send back the terms and conditions. It feels like talking to robots. I also tried to pay the cancellation fee, but they send you a link that does not work. I told them and they sent me an account no with a bank of Valetta, out of Canada of course, so that would be another 40$ for the wire transfer.
In the end my monetary damages could be a lot higher.
