insured over 15 yrs w/met life 8 yrs ago daughter & i bought house, 3 yrs ago added grandson 2011 daughter backed into porch $40,000 car back up beeper did not go off
(accident $4000) 2012 grandson car totalled by
hit & run $30000 pay out(many witnessess) i have no accidents and no one has tickets. met life refused to renew my daughter and grandson. i asked if i could remain insured and they said no because we lived in the same house. even if i lived elsewhere they could have driven my car. i am 62 yrs old w/no accidents driving 40 yrs is this not why they call it (insurance) i feel i have been discriminated against and sadly am no longer w/a co i had for many years. i am seeking legal advise as i feel this was very unfair. the letter from them reads mass law provides no ins co shall refuse to renew a motor veh liability policy based on ownership, or operation of mv because of age, sex etc and they refused me for no reason other than i live in the same house as my daughter and grandson, and we all have our own cars. i want a formal compaint, an answer and a resolution. i really feel i shold file a lawsuit but not sure if it is possible. i know this is lenghty but i am truely dumbfounded. ps you made me put in a $$ amt
