I was hired by Al Allen, (owner of Allen Construction), as foreman. I started working on 3/12/12 and finished all work was complete on 5/2/12. From the beginning and through out the coarse of this job, there were several times I did not have the supplies and/or materials or laborers needed to do my job. Upon informing Al he told me that he was waiting on a payment draw from another job and asked if I could purchase what was needed and he would reimburse me the costs. I paid for materials and kept all reciepts. So now they're owing my wages +plus reimbursement on material costs. Everytime I ask about getting paid I was told by Al….hey buddy….“just hang on were waiting on a payment…I promise….any day now.” still no payment. I filed a claim with the labor board, went to scheduled hearing only to be informed that Allen Construction had not show up, and will be contesting my claim and I would be informed of hearing date within 6 to 7 months.I’m hoping this complaint can help in resolving this matter. I am sure Allen Construction continues running business as usual, as if they’re used to taking advantage of workers, like me, by not paying.
