Yesterday, I noticed a strange charge from some company called MY CASH GUARDIAN for $29.95. When I called the 800 number listed (888-485-5853) I was told by the man on the phone that I had filled out an application on 9/4/2012 for a cash advance loan. That's very hard to have done since I've NEVER heard of this company or been to their website!!! He referred me to some website to get a "refund" that I couldn't even connect to. I contacted my bank. Since my banking account information--my actual account number and routing number--were compromised, I had to open a new account. So, in addition to the $29.95 "application fee," I've since had to pay an additional $6 to order new checks, $8 for a stop payment on the transaction so I could file a dispute, and several hours on the telephone back and forth with several companies to get my new account information to the REAL companies that draft payments and deposit direct deposits every month to my account. Now, I have to wait on my new debit card and checks to get here as well as having to wait on a couple of checks to clear the old account before I can even close it. What a hassle!!!
