Last month a man, Jeff Ownens, came by our house in Sun City, AZ, a retirement community, selling Dish TV. We had Direct TV at that time. He showed us a plan to save money monthly which was appealing. We said we couldn't switch at that time because of early cancellation fees. He told us that he would take care of the fees and would notify Direct TV of our change. That was reasonable so we gave him a payment towards the first month of Dish TV. The next day an installer came by and installed DISH TV. Left, to be shipped back to Direct, all the equipment that he disassembled. We were now getting DISH. Today, 9/10, we got a bill from Direct. When we called Direct to find out what the deal was, it was easy. It was a bill. They were NEVER notified of the change. Now because we have Dish installed, we told them that we disconnected last mo. Didn't matter, they disconnected today and we owe them the early cancellation fee and the months payment, even though we no longer were them. We called DISH to find out the deal and they are willing to do nothing..oh wait,they did offer a $5.00 a month credit! They did switch us to Dish, they did take our money but they claim the offer to cancel Direct was a scam..for which they are not responsible. Their suggestion a minute ago...disconnect Dish! How does that make since. We are 66. That guy, Jeff Owens, when he came here said he was selling in the neighbor. How many other retired, old folks were scammed! How many are too old to spend over 2 hours on the phone trying to find out what is happening. Probably not very many. How come DISH is not concerned. Well, we all know that..look at the business they steal from other companies!
