When I moved in to Terre View apts.my disability was low enough to qualify me for an apt. at 30% the regular cost of this apt. Two months previously they said I must give them $100. to hold the apt until the apt was ready to rent. This is the first time I have ever had this happen but I desperatly needed a place to live to be close to my oldest son so even though I didn't have $100. my son paid this "deposit" for me.The apt was empty when he paid this for me so I still do not know why they did not allow me to move in then. When the time came that they said I could move in I was told I owed them nothing until June 2012 and in fact they owed me $2.00 which they would deduct from my rent making it $303. instead of $305. They also tried to charge me the $100. my son had paid 2 months previously. Luckily for me he was with me and offered to show them proof from his bank statement to show it had been paid. The management charged me $350. damage deposit when it was only supposed to be $300. The community action center paid the correct amount for me but Cambridge property management insisted I pay the other $50. or be evicted so I did because I am so afraid of being homeless. The following month I paid them $303. because they had told me they owed me $2. too much. The rent was paid on time but 4 days later they said I owed them $56. for paying $303. instead of $305. Again I borrowed the money from my son to pay them. I have S.P.T.S.and am easily scared into doing things even when I know I am being taken advantage of. Some of the other tenants have similar stories but they seem better equipted to deal with these people. I have never felt so helpless and hopeless and at the point of giving up. This company shoud not be allowed to be making money from HUD or anything that involves dealing with diabled people.
