I posted some furniture for sale on Craiglist. This person contacted me by email and offered to purchase it, unseen. She/he wanted my paypal address so we would both be "protected." I asked if she didn't want to see the furniture. She said she didn't and knew what she was buying. It didn't feel right and so I asked around and found that the same or similare email had been used and scammed another seller on Craigs List. A different person told me that tickets he offered for sale on Craigs List were purchased through paypal with a stolen card. When the card was reported, paypal had to refund the money to bank issuing credit and ticket seller had to repay paypal. He had already delivered the tickets.

  • As I just posted to another great person - Thank you so much for posting this. I just recently posted furniture on Craigslist and received an identical email as yours. I have written them back saying I was no longer interested in selling to them. I would have continued with this transaction had I not found your email. Thanks for your help in protecting the good guys.
