This person advertised on a pet shelter that she had Miniature TeaCup Chihuahue Puppies for free. I only had to pay for the shipping. I texted and emailed back and forth with her for an entire day, asking questions and trying to make sure that it wasn't a scam. I ended up using Western Union to send the money, she said she was sending the puppies and they would be delivered to my door the next day, which is today. She continued to text me today. I received an email later today from a delivery service saying that they had my puppies and that I needed to wire $800 more in order to have them deliver the puppies. They wanted the money wired to Cameroon. That's when I knew for sure it had been a scam. I am heartbroken.

- Thank you very much!!!! I see this complaint to save my 400 dollar. And I feel uncomfort with her e-mail cause she has everything ready. But don't have money for pay for shipping before the money is wired. Anyway Thank you and I'm sorry for your lost and feel.

- i almost got scammed today.. she claims to have sphnyx kittens.. for only 240 dollars.. including shipping to my door.. everything seemed to perfect so i had to check it out... now i cant wait for her to email me back so i can tell her to get lost!!!

I almost got scammed this week on the same "Sphnyx kitten scam". She hacked into the Rescue Me website, a legitimate rescue group, & said she had a Sphynx that needed rescue.
She had me fill out a lengthy adoption questionnaire which took a lot of time. The next day she emailed that I had been "moved up to the #1 position" as an adopter.
She then said that the adoption fee was $240 for TWO kitten, also to be delivered to my door or picked up at the closest airport. What tipped me off was that when I emailed several times asking for pictures, colors, names, & what their sex was, they replied without the info or it kept changing.
When I Googled Maria Alexander I got nothing, but Carry Ann Meeker pulled up Scambook. Lisa, I am not going to tell her to get lost; I am going to take from her what she took from me...time! I am continuing to email & assure her the $240 will be forthcoming & ask various questions. I am going to totally mess with them until they realize that THEY are being scammed! I want them to feel just as stupid as I did, having already bought kitten supplies. LOL! -

- yes.. that is the same website i found her on... and the same exact things she said to me.. ihad been moved up tp number one... yeah.. the thing that tipped me was at first it was one kitten.. then 2... yeah i guess is hould have screwed her around too... i just told her i changed my mind..i tried to contact the rescue me websire to let them know but i coldnt get though

Yeah. Same thing here...first one & then two. They probably pick a website & tailor their scam to fit the site. Maybe they write up the whole scam in advance & just copy it on each person they contact. They prey upon our wish to have a precious baby Sphinx cat. How rotten!!!
I think we should contact the Rescue Me group & let them know they need better security as our confidential info is being harvested. This type of thing will get around & folks will not want to adopt animals off of the site. I just am not internet savvy enough to know what to do. Maybe someone will see this post who knows how to stop this. I am just so glad I saw YOUR post because it clued me in on the scam. Thanks for posting, Lisa.

- Thank you Carrie Ann! You saved a lot of us. what can we do to stop Maria with this? I emailed from Rescue me and she replied. Once we mentioned 240 for 2 kittens and mail to me from Ohio I googled her email and found your post. SO thank you!

we lost our 14yr old sphynx in aug, and how can people be so heartless to do this??

- Jelly Belly is the code word that they used for me sending the money by way of Western Union. Everything sounds the same except for mine was with two miniature teacup chihuahua's. I'm so glad that I have posted this and saved some of you some money. I wish we could catch this person!!!! I really believe the person's name is Carry Ann Meeker. I do believe I have the address, since the money was sent to their address by way of a Western Union check. It's just a matter of time until we have them in jail.

- When I ask why she was using the name Carry Ann Meeker to have me send the Western Union transfer, she said it was her housekeeper. This was sent to an address in the United States tho. When they wanted the money for shipping, it was to be sent to Cameroon. Thank you for posting and keeping others informed!

I went to send the money and pay and when I gave them the information you gave me there was a fraud alert and pet scam listing that you were involved with tea cup puppies and it was recommended that I cancelled the transaction.
How can you be so heartless to do this to people?

I have contacted the authorities in your area. with the names and contact information you gave me. They are aware of the scam you are doing, and have you on their list. they will be making contact with you and your partners now that they have enough information to make an arrest.
they told me that you have been doing this for a while now. with puppies and kittens using all the same names and information for shipping.
I hope you all go to prison and are eaten by rats.
