Laubman and frames and Pank Optometrists sent an offer of a free gift worth $389 available to me when I purchased a complete pair of prescription glasses (lenses and frame). The offer was not available with any other discount offer available. I had my eyes tested, and purchased a complete pair of frames and glasses. While discussing qualities and requirements I was asked if I also wanted a sunprotection layer put onto my lenses. I said that I didn't get this layer on my last glasses I purchased from them because I found it perished and made my glasses hard to see through and had to have them replaced earlier than I should have. The receptionist told me that they had been told that it wasn't the layer that was put on that was faulty, but the method inwhich it was applied that was found to be unsatisfactory. So I said asked for a refund and free replacement of this treatment since it was found to be faulty. She said yes. I was satisfied with this. I paid the account andsaid I would be back in a month (as I work remote NT) to have the glasses fitted and checked and to collect them. I asked when I was leaving could I collect my free handbag (worth $389) now or when I came in to collect my glasses and was told since I'd received a discount I was not entitled to the handbag. I don't believe I received a discount. I believe I was being refunded a sunscreen treatment that they freely admitted was faulty. /When I checked my receipt I noticed that the frames I selected for $129 were discounted $26.85. I did not ask for this discount. I believe these 2 discounts were included on my bill to avoid giving me the handbag vallued at $389. Although this bag probably isn't worth the said amount, it was still an enticement for me to have my eyes tested and to purchase new frames and lenses from them.
