My computer is locked and this scam is telling me I need to pay 200.00 to unlock. Tried a system restore but can not do it. How do I remove this without destroying the computer. Tried safe mode also and nothing is working to remove this and I can't get into any other part of my system.

  • I had the same thing. I have windows XP (7 home version). Someone had suggested a solution for Vista, which involved restarting the computer and holding down the F8 key. I did not get a beeping but a windows malware fix window came up, i clicked yes, and now its fixed. I might have missed this before as I always ignore popups...so be aware as they come up as I am fixed. What a scam. I called the FBI, but they did not respond to my call. Fixed now...glad to see the input and the questions...thanks!!

  • Same thing just happened to me in California. I don't know what to do. It says I need to buy a money pack to fix it within 24 hours or charges could be pressed.
    But I didn't do anything.
