The dishwasher in our rental property abruptly stopped running & the red re-set light went on. I tried again & the same thing happened. I called South Jersey Mr Rooter & specifically told them the problem, asking if their company could help. I was told they could. They said there was a $50.00 charge to come out but that would be waived if I used them for the repair. They sent a technician, Serge, who told me that the actual problem was being caused by a problem with my outside shower (which had been working!!). I am in the medical field and didn't quite understand so I repeatedly asked him about the problems "being connected." He assured me that when he fixed the shower problem the dishwasher would work fine. Having no reason not to believe him I allowed him to proceed. He replaced the handle of the shower and the part inside. He came back in the house, told me the shower and diswasher were fixed and charged me $279.25. I paid him by credit card,and AS HE WAS WALKING OUT THE DOOR, I noticed that the dishwasher had stopped working again and the red re-set light was on again. He became irritated and told me that he had fixed the shower and couldn't do anything more for me. He said I would have to call someone else to find out what was wrong with the dishwasher.

I remained calm and told him that I hadn't called to get the shower fixed, and I would not have had ANYTHING done to the shower if he had not told me that getting it fixed would take care of the dishwasher problem. I told him that if was not able to fix the dishwasher he should have told me that I needed someone else to do that and charge me the $50.00 service call. He said "I could just put your old parts back in the shower." I told him, yes, please do that, but he kept walking and got into his truck and left, not the least bit concerned that I was left $279.25 poorer and a dishwasher with some problem.
