My wife and myself have also been victims of the behaviour of leanslim ultra but we have had a positive result which we would like to share to give people hope that something can be done.
Initially we thought we would not be able to stop the payments from coming out of our account, because when we spoke to our credit card company that had processed the transaction we were told that because we were aware of the company that had charged us, and that we had not notified them that we didn’t want the products, it was not classed as fraud. Like all of the people that we have read about, we tried for days on end trying to ring the number that was provided on the website, only for it to ring once and then an engaged/out of service tone, and any emails that we sent were being returned as undelivered.
We then decided that the only way to take further action was to prove that we had been the victims of fraud. We live in the UK, so first we went to the citizens advice bureau website, and through their online scams link found a website called Action Fraud. We rang them and reported leanslim ultra and told them what had happened; the advisor told us that they had been reported several times, and that something positive could be done to resolve the problem despite the fact that they were saying on their website that the payments could only be stopped by contacting them, and there was no way of doing that. The Action Fraud advisor took the details and at the end of the call gave us a crime number. We then rang our credit card company again, and told them that we had we had spoken to Action Fraud, been told that we had been victims of fraudulent behaviour because lean slim ultra were not allowing us to cancel the subscription to their products by providing telephone numbers that were constantly engaged, and not responding to emails. The way the credit card company acted this time was completely different. The advisor we spoke to said they would ring them, and then call us back within 15-20 mins. When she came back to us, she had eventually, after being on hold for 20 mins got through to someone at lean slim ultra and they had promised to refund 50.00 of the 59.95 we had been charged, (the 9.95 kept to cover shipping) and they had advised her that we could keep the products (probably because they didn’t want to disclose their address for obvious reasons). Lean slim ultra also promised to cancel the reoccurring payment at their end, and our credit card company cancelled the payment at their end. The advisor said it would take 3-5 days for the payment to be charged back to our account, and she said if any future payments came out they would be charged back as the person she had spoken to at lean slim ultra had promised that no further payments would be taken.
The general consensus is if any of you have had the same experience with your credit card company or bank, if you are in the UK, talk to Action Fraud and report leanslim ultra first and then go back to the fraud department of your bank/credit card company with the crime number and ask them to contact leanslim ultra on your behalf, asking them to stop taking any more money. They seem to have responded to this approach.
We hope this information is helpful to anyone who has had the same experience, the response we have had from our credit company once we proved that fraud had been committed was really proactive.
