Damages have not occurred because I am not going to cash the check. I noticed that the person sending me the email was not the person sending me the check. Further, the check, although appearing to be from Navy Federal Credit Union, did not have the company's logo or trademark. Lastly, the letter sent along with the check was not on Letterhead of the company. I destroyed the check and blocked the email address.
