I placed an order online for my shopping from asda on wednesday 15/08/2012 at approx 6pm I received conformation of the order and the delivery time which was Thursday the 16/08/2012 between 5 and 7pm I then realised i would not be available and went back to change the booking slot to 6 and 8. I waited for my delivery but it did not arrive. I rang the store that was dealing with it to be told they had not received the order they informed they would check this out and get back to me they did and told me there was an issue with my card they would look into this and again get back to me I waited up until 11pm but had no response. The morning after I had a text message which stated I had to ring before 1.45 or they would cancel my order. I contacted this number approx 10 am only to speak to a person who I found to be extremely unhelpful she told me there was a problem with my debit card that when they had tried to process the card my bank had rejected my card when asked why I had not been informed prior to the delivery not being made she then attempted to say that it could have been my phone providers fault for the text not being sent after some discussion with her I was eventually put through to a manager who could only offer me discounts all I wanted was for them to deliver my shopping and requested that this situation could be resolved if they could delivery my shopping on the 17/08/2012 after all I had ordered it three days previously. I was told to contact my bank which I did they informed me that is was in fact an error made by asda as they had in putted the wrong expiry date on my debit card.They also informed me that I was not the only customer that this has happened too that they have had numerous customers contacting with the same problem. I then attempted to contact asda only to find that department had closed. I feel extremely frustrated as I have been a loyal customer for over 20yrs and that this organisation choose to blame not only my bank but my phone provider for the mistakes that were made and did not at any stage take responsibility I feel that I have not received the same loyalty from asda that I have given them over many years. I actually would have wanted to put this e.mail onto there own website but try as I might In cant find a complaints page should I be surprised!! I want to bring this complaint to the notice of asda's management team or on the very least a complaints department but that does not appear to be as easy as ordering your shopping on line !!!
