Same story as the rest.Mystery Shopper deposit check ,take 350.00 for weekly pay after check clears 12 to 24 hrs.I didn't have an account so I used the check to open one.Later that evening I went online to see if it had cleared,it hadn't
but they said [chase bank]I could withdraw $100.00 dollars.So I went to the bank atm,put my shiny new debit/atm card in and a message appeared on the screen that said I needed to call the chase 800 number.You have to relize I've been out of work for 4yrs and to get paid that much for shopping and getting to keep what I bought was to GOOD TO BE TRUE!I called and chase told me the check was altered/fictitious and my account will be closed.What gets me is a few days later chase sent me a LEGAL COPY of the check and it says I can "use it the same way I would use the original check"I'm confused in California.
