on july 13,2012 i contracted billy r reynolds of the pc pitstop to install a radio, amp and speakerbox in my acura slx suv. after a little over eight hours he informed me that the job was complete and i paid him 275.00 cash usd. i had not yet seen the work as the truck was still parked in the work shop. when i got in the truck i noticed the radio was installed low and behind the gear shift. the radio was installed in a piece of plywood that was covered in shoddy contact paper and the tuner did not pick up any radio stations. he(billy) told me that there were two antenna wires and he had only hooked up one to the radio. he said he would hook up both wires and the radio should work. he also informed me that he would cover the plywood and radio panel in vinyl in order to cover the imperfections and make it look professional. i informed him the next day sat the 14th of july that i was not satisfied with the position of the radio because it was a touch screen and when the vehicle was placed in park it would change the radio settings and some settings could not be accessed while in park because they were covered by the gear shift.the next day sunday the 15th of july he moved the radio up but it was still sitting in an uncovered piece of plywood and the radio tuner still would only barely pick up one station. billy told me to return that following friday the 20th of july and he would remove the plywood piece and the radio panel that belonged to my truck so that he could cover it in vinyl and cover up the inperfections and he would re install the radio into the removed pieces and my truck on sunday the 22nd because the glue he was using needed time to cure. i called billy on the business phone as well as his personal phone several times on sun the 22nd but he did not answer. after my last attempt i called my girlfriend to see if she could reach him from her phone. she made one attempt to reach him from her phone and he answered as if he had been avoiding my calls all day. he told her he was "out of town" and would call me when he got back later on that afternoon and then hung up the phone before she had the chance to question him further. he did not call at all. i called him the next day monday and he informed me that the piece was not ready but did not give me a new time of completion. the next day tue july 17th i contacted him again but he told me he had a power outage and could not work that day. i called him the next day wednesday the 18th of july and asked him could he give me a date of completion. he said he was on service calls out of the office and could not give me an exact date. i informed him that i was very dissatisfied that he could not give me an exact date since he did not keep the original date of sunday the 22nd that he had given me and seemed to be making no attempt to complete our contract. i made several attempts to reach him by phone after that date and received no answer. also his voicemail was full and when i stopped by his shop the doors were locked even though his car was parked outside. finally on august the 3rd. i sent a text to mr reynolds informing him that if i did not hear from him in order to complete our contract that i would be taking legal action against him and his company the pc pitstop for breach of contract. on august 7th 2012,mr reynolds contacted me by phone to give me a completion date of sat aug 14th. i told him that was fine and hung up the phone. he immediately called me back and ask me did i think i did not owe him any more money for completing the installation. i told him i did not and further more we had not discussed nor did he inform me of any additional cost. he stated i should have known because this was a custom job however on my receipt it clearly states custom installation 100.00. we argued back and forth and at one point he said "i don't owe you (Inappropriate Content Removed) and you don't owe me (Inappropriate Content Removed). he wanted to continue arguing but i informed him as long as we had an installation date no further discussion was necessary.also during that conversation i asked him several times how much did he think i owed him. he would not give me an amount. on he gave me to complete the installation sat august 11 at noon he called me and texted me that he needed to reschedule to tuesday the 14th. on tue the 14th he said he needed one more day for the paint to dry. so i told him that i would be there wed the 15th at noon. now over a month from our initial start. later on that day he text me and and said 2:00 p.m would be a better time and that i owed him an additional 250.00 dollars. we had never discussed,i was never informed and i never agreed to any additional charge for work that was never completed.
