On August 9, 2012 I received a letter from Gateway Investment, Inc., stating I was the winner of the North American Lottery Sweepstakes. In that letter I was invited to contact the claim agent “Adam Westwood at 1-289-981-7284 or by fax 1-905-248-5082. A check for the amount of $3, 495.00 was also attached to this letter.
Upon calling this person, I was told I needed to send 2 money orders for the total amount of 1, 996 dollars to pay for Govt. Service Tax before receiving the total winning amount. As I felt this looked very much like a scam I took the check to my bank that confirmed my suspicion. I have the letter and a copy of the check if needed.

- Today Oct,2 2012 I also recieved a letter & check in the amount of $3,845.00.The letter was written from Gateway Investment & the check was written off of a Custom Freight sales,CHASE bank account located in Dayto,Ohio.The letter informed me I was a winner of a Lottery sweepstakes.Just reading the letter & instructions I knew it was a scam.I was to pay by westeren Union and Money Gram $2845.00 for the International Service Tax & Insurance.I was to call a agent by the name of Mark Edwards,but the letter was signed by a Justin Newman.I hope someone can get to the bottom of this scam & get these 2 or more people off the streets.To you Justin & Mark may you both rot in hell for doing something like this to people this day & time as hard as things are for people to survive.Thank you Ramona Dyson.
