I received a phone call from someone implying they represented the Yellow pages in the California phone book. The yellow pages list companies (for no fee) in the phone book. I told them I was happy with their service. Later I started getting bills from YELLOW PAGE DIRECTORY SERVICES - their return address is: PO Box 411450, Melbourne, FL 32941-1450. This company (if it really exists) sent me a bill which I ignored because I know the California yellow pages are free listings & I am listed there ! I have now received a notice from CC Recovery, a debt collector firm (1940 Duke St, Suite 200 #100, Alexandria, VA 22314 ) demanding payment in full. in 30 days for $798.63! Their email is: [email protected] and their phone # is 1-866-747-2227. How do I deal with this scam? https://www.scambook.com/report/submit

- This looks like you got confused on which yellow page company is legit and which is not. I assure you the one addressed: PO Box 411450 Melbourne,FL 32941-1450 is a legit company and has been around since the early 90's. They are a contract free company and never report businesses to collections or make out going phone calls to make sales. I know this because I am a business partner of theirs and have been for over 10 years. You can reach The Original yellow page company @ 321-254-6012. That number has been the same since I became a business partner. The other company seems like the scam. If it is a scam, then the best way to deal with that company is to ignore it and pretend it never happened. I know of a REAL SCAM and they call themselves the yellow pages usa! they fax you an invoice with a rediculous amount and claim you owe it or take you to collections. Just laugh at them and say ok I will send you the money just give me a moment while I transfer you to "DT"- Dial tone for those who dont know. Remember to READ EVERTHING. If they have a Phone Number to call then ask them for their Federal tax ID number and a W9 before paying any invoice. If they provide you with either be sure to look up that ID number before paying!
