I recently changed my number that was listed on the "do not call register" for the past 5 years. I never used to have any problems with calls, until about a year or more ago when a holiday company started harassing me.

In the last 6 months, however, I received an increasing number of calls that seemed to be doing "surveys" but it was always from a private number and they asked for very personal information like our annual income and our amount outstanding on the mortgage, etc. On the last call, I asked where they found my number and they replied on "ondisc" - which I looked up on the internet and found out they are a company that sells information to businesses but requests that they check information on the do not call register themselves.

The problem with that is that most legitimate businesses will do this, but "scammers" could not care less and they still use the information. I wanted to make you aware of the situation, so you can contact Ondisc and prevent them from selling our information to anybody when we are listed on the do not call register. The last straw was a call on Thursday afternoon when I was contacted by "windows" about a "nasty bug" on my computer - but they could not tell me which computer. I immediately recognised this as a fraudulent call and hung up. Only to call my internet provider and change my number - enough is enough.
