Downloaded Speedy PC Pro for $40. to clean up my slow computer. I needed to call in for a "license key" to actually get the program to work. They operated my computer remotely and showed me all my "errors and warnings" that needed to be fixed by a "certified technician." Said I needed to spend $249 more for them to fix and have tech support. I said no. Then it was $199 to fix. I said no. Then there's a one-time fix for $80. I bought that but said how long does that last. He said call within seven days and we'll fix whatever the problem is. I also had the technician check my e-mail because it was not receiving mail. He said he'd take a look at it. It seemed to work when he was finished with our call. This call took over an hour. Two days later I'm not getting any e-mail. I called tech support and got the run around for an hour. They started the remote access to my computer but then signed off and never got back on the phone. This company is a complete SCAM!! I don't even think much was wrong with my computer. I just wanted it to run a little faster and now I'm out $120 and can't get my e-mail.

  • @Venti101 The same exact thing happened to me! Only I purchased the Speedy PC Pro 5/16/12. Supposed to be good for 1yr. Then they got me to purchase the 1yr. tech support for $249.99 also. Totally useless. They just came on with the update today and said something about purchasing a license key. I already paid for it! That's when I got suspicious and found this blog. I let the so called "update" come in, and was and still very confused. I am certainly not going to purchase any licensing key. I paid for the yr. & extra service that is a scam as it is. What do I do?

  • @d4photo They kept trying to sell me support...first at $249. Then $199. Then the one-time fix for $80. I was so scared they were going to crash my computer, because they were controlling it remotely, that I bought the one-time fix. I had such a bad feeling about it because they kept trying to sell me something more each time. Over and over they showed me errors and warnings that I've never seen on a computer and telling me how I needed a certified technician to fix the problems. I'm not computer saavy, but this screen didn't look right. And two days later when I called back to tell them it wasn't working, they told me that case was closed. I said no, you said I had seven days to call back if there was anything wrong. They gave me the run-around and all I got was an hour's worth of music to listen to. Complete scam. They also said they were a Microsoft partner. What I did is called my credit card company and they credited me for the charges. I hope they go after SPP for fraud though because they are making a lot of money off of people and not fixing anything.
Try calling your credit card company and see if you can get credited for the fraudulent charges. Otherwise, it seems our hands are tied and it's so frustrating! They are in New Delhi for darn sake.

  • @Venti101 Thankyou so much for replying! I am so upset. On top of that I ended up purchasing the 1yr. plan, so I am now out $289 93. I made my purchases through paypal. (Am new to paypal) wary of purchasing products on the internet w/ good reason. I have an account w/ them, the receipts-history of transaction are through Safecart. Any advice? I am not too internet savvy. Am not feeling well lately, this is causing me much added stress. Thankyou again. So appreciated.

  • I'm not really sure about paypal. I think you can at least complain to them about SPP. I live in Northern California and on one of our news programs we have an investigative team that helps people that have been taken by bad businesses. Maybe that's an option. It is so stressful, I know. Feel better :)

  • @Venti101 Thankyou. I am on the east coast. We have a news investigative team. I didn't even think of that. Thanks. Probably
my best bet. I'm new to paypal. I'll give that a shot. There is all this red tape, goes through safecart, etc. I'll try the news team 1st, they have a good rep. These internet sites like to give you the run around and drive you crazy. FYI, just for the heck of it, I emailed Speedy PC Pro. They finally emailed back and said my 30 days were up. ( purchased 5/16/12 )I probably have to many things running
& I should disable the anti-virus, among other things & then run. Confusing & no way will I do that. I hope I feel better soon. Thankyou so much. Appreciate. :)
