America's Evaluation Research Group, sends out these letters from their headquarters supposedly located in Seattle Washington trying to get you to be a mystery shopper at wal-mart, JC Penny, Sears, and the like. They also enclose a check for $1964.45, and you are supposed to send them back $1260.00. Now this is a complete scam. The first indicator is that the envelope is not sent out with a business stamp on it, and the stamp that is on it, is from Canada, as is the return address on the envelope. The Canadian address I got was 295 The West Mall, Unit 301, Etobicoke, ON M9C 1C5.
Yet the address on the letterhead claims to be a 740 4th Avenue, Suite 2001, Seattle, WA 98104.

The second indicator is that the check is printed out on a credit Union supposedly out of Georgia, which is on the complete opposite coast from Seattle, and in a separate country from Canada!

The third indicator is that the check is dated for April 5, yet I did not receive it until late June, and the check is supposedly void after 90 days, making the deadline July 5th. This is an attempt to make you act rashly thinking that you are running out of time.

The fourth is that you have to western union the money to them within 48 hours of depositing the check, which is typically about how long the bank takes to verify that the check is real, and that the funds are actually available.

The fifth tip off is that you have to actually call in to get the western union sending instructions. A) No legitimate business would mail you a check before having you do work, and b) they would not be using western union where you can only send them cash in lieu of the check that they sent you.

Beware, this is a scam scam scam!
