I got a call from a Mr. Dan Jones who informed me that my loan for $500 dollars was approved and he needed to confirm some details about the loan. I explained that I was driving and would stop and talk to him, so I did.
He then asked me several question about my personnel information, I told him I could not give that information over the phone and he stopped me right away and told me I only needed to confirm what he would tell me the information was. He said he did this because that way I could be assured that this was not a scam. So he told me my name, address, phone number, soc number and my date of birth. HE HAD ALL INFORMATION ALREADY. I assumed that this must be a legit company or he would not have that info.

So he told me to go to western union and send him a $195.00 deposit for a $1,500.00 loan, but before I sent the money I needed to call him back to get the information to put on the western union paper work. So I got to western union to send money and called him back. He then told me to send the money to (first name Monalisa Last name Monalisa in Delhi India this was on 8-18-11) So after asking him why the odd name instead of a company name he said "oh that is just how it is done and will be received by and accountant at there firm. So I still questioned it and he said just trust me and in less then 10 minutes I would have a loan for 1500 plus the 195 dollar deposit. I went into the Western Union office and sent the 195.00.
Next I went out to the truck to call the guy back and give him the MTCN number for the 195.00. He then gave me a new MTCN number to receive my loan. I thinking that was pretty easy, went into the western union office to get my loan. When I gave the clerk the information filled out she checked it and told me that the number was not a valid number. So I went right back out to the truck called the guy again and he told me he had given me one number off and he also needed to get the taxes paid for in-order to release the funds. I was not very happy. However he told me this was only his second day and he had made a big mistake and should have told me about the taxes that also had to be paid but it would be refunded by them with my loan since it was there mistake. Not feeling real good about now, I could kinda understand but still did not like it. So off I went to send him an additional $106 for the taxes (this time it went to Zun NGAI in Delhi, India).

Now I was thinking what a hassle and glad it was over and now all I had to do is call him back and give him the new MTCN number for the 106 tax money. Well I called him back and told him the number and then he gave me the receiving number. I went to a different Western Union office now because I was embarrassed to go back into the same office and have the number not work. So I went across town and tried a different Western Union office, and the number was not right again. This time I was really upset and called the guy back, of course he was not around and did not call me back for about an hour.

So he calls me back this hour or so later and tells me that he is so sorry for having problems and he wanted to let me know that he had an accounting guy on the phone with him who would verify all the information and transactions that have taken place. So I calmed down and listen to what they had to say.

The accounting guy who said his name was James, told me that this had never happened before and since they caused the problem they would increase the loan from $1500.00 to $3000.00 at a discounted rate of 4.5% for all my troubles. I explained to him that, that was nice but I only needed $1,500 not 3K. Well they were pretty convincing giving me 50% discount on drug prescriptions and a couple other things I did not write down. I then told the guy, hey maybe I should just get my money back and just pass. This James guy said well that would be no problem at all, but then told me what a great opportunity it was with such a low rate but I would also have to send him just another $90.00 for the difference in the taxes from $1,500.00 to $3k at this time I was not real happy. He convinced me to send him the money and he personally would make sure all these transaction would be done in less the 90 sec and I would be happy with my loan. So I sent the addition money again to the same guy as last time. This all took place on Aug. 18, 2011. I sent him the money called the loan officer back and told him the new MTCN number and he told me to hold on a sec while he verified the new number he was going to give me. He then said ok, go ahead into the Western Union office and get your loan, he then hung up the phone. As you know by now the number was not good and I felt like a real idiot for doing this whole crap for over 5 hours back and fourth.

The next day (Fri 8-19-11) I was very upset and told a friend who told me it was more then likely a scam. By the end of the day on Thursday I had spent $421.00 on a guy who just totally scamed me and I was embarrassed and quite upset knowing I had done something so stupid and how could I have been fooled! After my friend and I talked I felt stupid and had learned a lesson the hard way. So on I went about my day feeling like crap and had a restless night at that.

The next day, the same guy called me and I let him have it telling him what problems he had caused me and how upset I was. He (Dan Jones) told me how so very sorry he was and he had my loan all done. I then told him give me a different number which I can call you on because whenever I called he would always have to call me back. (this did seem odd but obviously did not cause enough of an alarm with me until now, I will explain later). So he gave me a web site name paydayland.com and quickfinance.com which was their companies web site. I looked it up telling him that wow they were everywhere and I was glad he at least called me back. This guy went on and on about how he was so sorry, and he could fix everything.

So now he told me the MTCN number was good and he was going to finalize my loan right now, however amongst all the confusion he need to have $105 which is what the difference was for a $3k loan instead of a $1500 dollar loan: so the loan amount was $3k with a deposit of $390 plus the different taxes that applied of 1)$106.00, and the 2)$90.00 of which I had already paid. Naturally I was very hesitant about giving him more money yet I let him talk me into it. So I sent the additional funds and called him back with the new MTCN number at which time I told him if it was a scam I would report it. He then told me "if it was a scam why would I keep calling you back, I already have your money" that is what I suppose convinced me to give him the money the final time (this all happened on 8-20-11 and this time the money was sent to John Rem in Delhi India.

So here is breakdown in US Dollar amounts
8-18-11
195.00 plus 10.00 sending fee=205.00
106.00 plus 10.00 sending fee=116.00
90.00 plus 10.00 sending fee =100.00

8-20-11
105.00 plus 10.00 sending fee=115.00
Total================$536.00

I feel really bad and embarrassed for even coming close to falling for this obvious scam however please let me explain my state of mind at the time, as it is not an excuse for falling for this things but it I guess makes me feel better knowing I had a problem.

I had gotten in an accident a few days earlier and had gone to the doctor after being charged by a mad cow and trying to load them for a customer at our stockyard. I had been thrown over a fence by this cow, charged several times and ended up with a concussion, severely bruised kneek cap, and a dislocated shoulder. I was in some pain and on medication of which was causing me to make bad choices and was told to go home and take it easy for a few days until I got to feeling better. Mind you this is work i do for my dad, and only do it on my days off for fun and to help. Also my wife and I were having problems and we have been seprated for awhile and I was still helping her paybills and we were getting along fine. Well my job had slowed down until the middle of september and I thought I would try to get a quick easy loan to help her out and me out until I started getting more work. No big deal or so I thought. The worst part is, when I do work I make around $4200 a week and really could have been out of the whole soon I just needed a little help until the midle of September. Well all that made my wife (maybe soon to be Ex) a little upset to say the least as I was trying to help not loss money.

Thats my story I sure hope it helps anyone to not have the same problem I have and it almost made me loss control.
