I saw a listing for a truck on auto-trader that had low km and a good price. Upon emailing "Shane Kellar" He said that he had used the vehicle in Ontario but had to sell it because he was transferred to Spain on business. He will then send a FAKE email from ebay motors stating that you must send a full payment to a third party,a bank in The United Kingdom. The email looks very very real !!

He uses the policy as stated by ebay motors and changes it very slightly . . here it is as by shane kellar:
When payment is received, it will be verified and secured into a non-interest bearing trust account. Payment verification process usually takes less than 48 hours. After payment is secured, the Seller is authorized to ship vehicle. The Seller has 5 business days to send the Buyer and eBay Motors Customer Support the tracking number of the shipment. If no tracking number is provided, a full refund is immediately sent to the Buyer.

The Buyer receives the vehicle and has 5 business days to inspect it. If it is complete and as described, the Buyer should accept the vehicle. If he refuses the vehicle, the Seller will be responsible of shipping back the vehicle.

After the inspection period is over, the Buyer must contact eBay Motors Customer Support with the result of the inspection. If the Buyer refuses the vehicle, the refund will be sent to the Buyer. If the vehicle is accepted, eBay Motors Financial Department submits the payment directly to the Seller within 3 business days.

This is an absolute scam, ebay is not reponsible for vehicles not bought on ebay, I had contacted him through autotrader!

Beware this "Shane Kellar" and others like him. Always get the VIN and compare it to the Vin located on the hood of the car. Always get a CARFAX to check to liens against the car, if you overlook a payment owed on a vehicle and buy it, it can be reposessed legally from you.
