i am from India usually we will participate in trade fairs which will be held in Messe frankfurt
i have been cheated by construct data publishers i dont know why they have cheated me again and again they are raising demands for money
they are threatining me by sending the legal department notice so if any body knows how to solve this problem kindly email me or call me @(Personal Info Removed)

  • We received an invoice from them this week as well. Two things you can do: 1) ignore them. From information I found online, they haven't gone to court in the past but rather rely on a small percentage of respondents paying the money. 2)Fax them a letter stating that you consider the contract null and void based on the fact it was misleading. Template here: http://stopecg.org/cdcancellation.doc Delete the references to Austria, this is the country they used to be based out of before they kicked them out and they moved to Bratislava.

    I have also received an invoice today from Construct Data,Slovakia asking for $ 1717! I was also mislead into this by their letter.
    Please let me know what further course of action you took? Also would appreciate if you can send me a copy fo letter/fax...

  • Here's our timeline so you know what to expect. I'll update this if we receive any more communications.
    "contract" signed: 3/13/2012;
    Invoice received for $1717: 6/19/12;
    "request overdue payment" received: 7/10/12;
    "first overdue payment reminder" received: 7/31/12; total $1,739.11
    "second overdue payment reminder" received: 8/21/12; total $1,761.23
    "final reminder for overdue payment" received 9/11/12; total $1,783.34
    "demand for overdue payment" from "legal department" received 10/2/12 total $1,805.46
    Don't get too worried about these jokers. They are all bark and not no bite ;-)

  • I did send them a letter by fax on 7/31 according to the template linked in my first post, and received a reply by mail dated 8/15, basically contesting my claim that the contract is invalid. I have since reported them to the US Federal Trade Commission and the USPS Post Master for fraud as "promised" in my letter to them ;-) Honestly I don't think it makes much difference. I would be very surprised if they take any real legal action since no judge is going to rule in their favor with their history of scamming honest companies. And even if they do have a Slovakian judge in their pocket, there is no way to enforce a Slovakian court order in the US. I'm basically saying "bring it".

    Well I am based in Ontario Canada. I will also try to find out Canadian autorities to repot this scam... Do you have any idea of whom to report this matter in Canada?

  • I did like ABC but got the same results. This is my third year receiving a bill from them. My account is up to $5151 as of today. LOL. They can send me all of the invoices they want but they will have to rip it out of my dead hand first. I just sent an email to them but only to make me feel better. I got very vocal and used abusive language with them in the email. One thing I know is that if they were going to take legal action they would have already acted on it. I hope that one day they come to my place of business. Not sure if they will be able to walk when they leave. Don't worry about the statements. It just gets annoying to get them all of the time.

  • Update:
    After the "demand for overdue payment" I received 10/2/12 as reported above, the notices have stopped. Like I said before, all bark and no bite :)
