On the 29th of March, 2012 a very animated young girl knocked on the door. She told me she was selling magazines to win a trip. She informed me it was a "boys" against "girls" contest and that I couldn't let the boys win. She should me an official looking booklet full of magazines that I could order.. she tried to talk me into three subscriptions at a cost of $98 for the year. She was cute and seemed genuine. I agreed to ONE SUBSCRIPTION at the price of $49.00 for the year of WINE ENTHUSIAST, a gift I would give to my husband on his birthday. She took my check and gave me a yellow and pint receipt (very official looking.. my order receipt. (I have all this information on hand right now). Before she left she put a sticker on my door that read THE GIRLS ARE WINNING! (and she wrote I'm winning on the receipt I have). It has been over 4 months and I have YET to get my subscription. The check WAS cashed. I went to the website to check on my order status and they say the subscription does NOT EXIST. I looked for a phone number to call customer service, there is NONE. I looked on the internet for any information regarding the company and it looks like I have been SCAMMED! WHAT CAN I DO... I am actually thinking of contacting a lawyer (as my husband works in this field). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have her SIGNATURE, the RECEIPT, the CASHED CHECK. I am hoping that we can get this company and the people involved.
