Hello, my name is Almaz Mehari and I am writing this letter regarding my daughter, Makda, and her John Robert Powers Program. I enrolled her in this program to take the Life course, Acting, Modeling, and Singing courses, as well. I payed $9,900 for a 52 week coverage on all four courses, 24 weeks of 52 were completed. My daughter only took part in Modeling, and Acting. The Modeling courses which were completed were the Runway class and Modeling 101; however Image and Life classes were not completed, nor started. The following Acting classes were completed:

Auditions Techniques
Commercial Acting
Character Analysis
Character Development
Film Scene Study
Improvisation
Monologue
Television Scene Study

The following Acting classes were not started:
Business of Acting
Comedy
Communication
Dialect
Film Scene Study II
Monologue II
Movement
Musical
Situation - Comedy Sit-Com
Soap Opera Study
Television Scene Study II


The Singing classes were not started, nor completed either. Such as:
Voice and Diction
Vocal Introduction
Vocal Workshop series

The Dance program was not started either, the following:
Choreography I
Choreography II & III

The promised benefits were not followed through:
Celebrity Workshop
Comp Cards
The Headshots were completed; however, I was not satisfied with the results of these photos. After having these pictures shown to an Acting Agency, they too, agreed that, indeed, the photos were not properly done. For example, my daughter’s name should have been printed onto the Headshot on the bottom right hand side, which was not done. The photo was to be printed on an 8x10 sheet of paper. I paid $2000 worth of Headshots, and still, they made me go out, order and pay for the photo’s myself. I had an offer from an Acting Agency to do the Headshots, and have them ready with name printed on for only $200. I went to the School Direct in January of 2011, and voiced my concerns for the problems stated above. He promised the Headshots would be re-done in the end of April.
They had told me that a Celebrity Workshop would be offered once a month. In the 7 months of attending John Robert Powers, 2 Workshops were scheduled; she attended both.
Comp Cards had not been started, at all.
