I recently rented a condo (1270 Seacoast Drive, Unit 201, Imperial Beach, California)from the Gawerecki's for two weeks at $2,200 per week, plus $125.00 cleaning fee and $500.00 security deposit. The owner is not refunding my security deposit due to the fact that there was spillage on the oven and the microwave was not cleaned. Also, we used the grill outside and grease spattered as it normally would while grilling. I assumed that the $125.00 cleaning fee would include these items being cleaned after we left, however, this was called excessive cleaning and we were not refunded our $500.00 deposit. I was also accused of having pets, which was false, smoking in the condo, which was false. The parking lot has some kind of black oil base on it which transfers to the shoes and feet... The condo was misrepresented that it had built in steps between the boulders for direct access to the beach. I specifically said I did not want to have to climb over boulders, which is what I indeed had to do. Pictures of the condo did not show that I would be sharing the same porch with other tenants. Was under the impression that the unit I rented was the whole floor. I was not notified that construction would be going on the 1st week. Woke up several days to strangers on the porch working. Also, the property manager was extremely rude. I would like to have my $500 deposit returned and also an additional $1,000 for misreprentation and the inconvenience of construction being done and also for mental distress for his condescending accusations.
