I am a victim of a Chinese website called mall-red. They lure you in with really great but not totally unrealistic prices for electronics and sporting goods. I was stupid enough to wire transfer the money for a laptop, Asus G75VW-TS72, because I asked why the website did not offer paypal or cc. The person from mall-red said that their credit account and their paypal had been hacked into and that they only offered wire or western union at the time. I wholeheartedly believed that this company had been hacked and that they were simply trying to keep the business going via transfers until they sorted their payment methods out. The thing is that I truly needed a laptop quickly and went for the wire transfer. During the process, the service was great. Responses would come within 12 hrs. As soon as I knew that the money had been received on the other side I sent an email that I would like to have the laptop sent out and a tracking number. From then on, no responses came in any longer. Since then, I found out that this scam operation used to go by mall-east.com of which various reports of its victims can be found on the internet. They even used the exact same receiving account under the name Wang Guobo. I am no longer receiving any responses from the company. As a student it is not easy to come with money for a new laptop and I need a working one for the fall semester. Thanks to heartless scammers, writing papers will be a pain for me.
