Suffering with Lupus and being unemployed without health insurance is financially crippling so I searched the internet for insurance options for people that are disabled and unable to work. I found one site that appeared helpful and even with pop up blocker and an advertisement blocker on my computer GlobalSurveyFreebies.com popped up offering a $500.00 check for completing a simple survey. Needing the money ofcourse and not being cautious enough I complied with their request and completed the survey. When told to click the bottom option to receive my check I was sent to another survey and had to complete 2 offers to receive my check and I would also receive additional bonuses including free gifts. I was naive enough to complete 2 offers which were misleading and I was charged for the "free merchandise" which was cheap pieces of crap and looked nothing like the ads. One offer was from "The Lux Rack", they gave me an online $50.00 credit voucher and I chose 2 items that amounted to less than $50.00. They then charged me over $60.00 and shipped 3 items instead of 2. The products were very cheaply made and I was so embarrassed when they arrived because I had shown my Son the sunglasses that I had ordered for him and he was so anxious to get them. They had no designer logo like described and were made of thin fragile plastic, they also were shaped crooked so they are not even wearable. The other company was "America's Makeup Choice" were you only paid a small shipping fee to sample their powdered mineral makeup. They charged me for shipping as well as a "product" fee and enrolled me as a member so that I would be charged almost $200.00 for becoming a member and an additional $80.00 monthly for their products. You had to cancel by 14 days to avoid more charges and they fail to tell you that you have to return the "free sample" at your own expense or you will be charged. So now I have to pay to have the free sample that I paid for mailed back to them. What a rip off and scam, I feel so very stupid, not only did I pay for a free gift but I have to return something that I paid for. I had another fee from an unknown company that I did not request, my bank statement simply says Debit Charge for Identity Alert, that company did not e-mail a receipt. All I am left with is great humiliation and an empty bank account. Shame on these people for taking advantage of trusting people. I hope that this helps anyone from becoming another victim!
